Sustainable Sailing Club
We have implemented a recycling program to ensure that our clubs are environmentally friendly. Please be advised that we now have a blue recycling bin located in our clubhouse and should be used for recyclables such as glass bottles, plastic bottles, and cans ONLY.  Before the bin gets full please empty it to the designated disposal area located beside the work shed on the St. James Town side. The picture below is worth a thousand words.

When taking out our bin for disposal, simply dump our recyclables right into the blue bins shown above without putting them in a plastic bag.

This Wednesday (June 2nd) marks the first Wednesday night dinner hosted by your executive team and this is an excellent time to discuss responsible plate and cutlery usage. In the past most people have opted for paper plates, plastic cutlery and cups. I say this is a culinary outrage as well as very costly for the club. Please make an effort this season to bring your own favourite plate, cutlery and mug to social events as this is guaranteed to cut down cost and make the food taste better. Remember when Paul spilled the pasta all over his nice shirt because the paper plate broke? Everybody laughed and pointed, but please do not let that happen to you folks. Do the right thing!

Regards,

George
