Bronze Sail Program Details
Intermediate and Advanced Classes
Bronze Sail is the advanced level of the Learn to Sail Program from the CYA. Sailors are taught advanced sailing techniques, including sail trim, boat tuning and boat maintenance. On completion of the bronze standard, sailors are competent in winds up to 25 km/hr.
Prerequisites for the Bronze program include White Sail III (or equivalent), at least a full season of sailing, and assessment on the first day of classes.
Race Training
Race training is free and open to all sailors that have completed White Sail III. Training is geared toward both helms and crews. While the focus is on racing, these sessions offer an excellent opportunity for newly graduated White Sailors to continue their skill development. Race Training is held every Monday evening 6-10pm starting in June.
NOTE *If you are an experienced sailor joining the club, you can excellerate past the White Sail program if you pass a Sailing Examination given by one of our Skipper Examiners. Speak to our Membership Director. See Contact Us
